It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school community. At Ysgol Bro Taf, we are dedicated to harnessing the power of education to enrich the lives of our learners and ensure the prosperity of the Pontypridd district, both now and for future generations.
Our goal is simple: to ensure every pupil has the chance to shine. We’re committed to creating a school where everyone feels supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
We’ve designed our curriculum to spark curiosity, challenge minds, and open doors to new opportunities. By focusing on exceptional teaching and a love of learning, we aim to nurture aspirations and confidence in every pupil.
Ysgol Bro Taf is built on the values of being brave, respectful, optimistic, trusting, aspirational, and having fun. We see ourselves as ONE community — where everyone works together, celebrates achievements, and grows as leaders. These values shape everything we do, helping us create a school filled with kindness, resilience, and a positive spirit.
I’m excited about the journey ahead and all we’ll achieve together. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to building a strong partnership as we help every pupil thrive.
Warmest regards,
Mr Mark Thomas
Headteacher

A massive shout‑out to our incredible Year 11 pupils who dedicated part of their February half term to science revision! 🔬📘
During the sessions, pupils tackled key exam topics, strengthened their understanding of essential content, and practised using a variety of effective revision techniques. They put real effort into mastering the skills needed for QER (Quality of Extended Response) style questions. ✍️💡
Your commitment, focus, and determination are inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work, every bit of revision brings you one step closer to success! 🚀✨

🌟 NEW Well‑being Initiative: I Wish My Teacher Knew… 🌟
At Ysgol Bro Taf, we are committed to supporting every pupil’s well‑being. Today, we’re excited to launch a new initiative designed to help pupils share how they’re feeling and ask for support whenever they need it.
💬 “I wish my teacher knew…” gives pupils a safe and confidential way to let us know if something is worrying them, if they need help, or if they just want someone to check in.
Pupils can reach out in two ways:
✨ Online: Use the link on the school website to access the confidential form
📮 In Person: Post a note in our new boxes located in each Well‑Being and Family Engagement Office
🕗 Form Monitoring: 8:00am – 3:30pm daily
Once a form is submitted, a member of our Well‑Being Team will check in with the pupil and support will be put in place if needed.
We’re here to listen. We’re here to help. 💛
Together, we can make sure every pupil feels heard, valued, and supported.
